It’s super easy, let me show you.

STEP #1 – Location Location Location – DEFINE YOUR Meditation SPACE

When it comes to creating your meditation room, keep in mind that this doesn’t have to be complicated. If you have an entire room that you can dedicate to your meditation practice, then great! But if not, don’t worry, your at-home sanctuary can be the corner of a room or a specific place in your garden. Really, it depends on you. Just find that place that makes you feel safe, comfortable, and where you know that you will be able to retreat to.
According to Feng Shui, the best place During meditation, it is better to face one of your favorable directions. … energy in the room, and you should avoid placing your meditation seat under an unfavorable direction or location … it is of utter importance to space clear and dedicates the area energetically.

I would suggest that whatever place you decide to dedicate to your meditation practice, make sure that it has good vibes, that it’s clutter-free, that you can get some good natural lighting – and while we’re at it, add some plants (they literally help you breathe better). Also, think about putting all distractions away like the TV, or piles of laundry.

After that, it all depends on you!

Your meditation space should be comfortable and in a great location.

STEP #2 – MAKE IT COMFORTABLE

In order to meditate, you do not need anything more than your beautiful self, your breath, and a little time and space. But, by committing to your practice you might quickly find yourself meditating for longer and longer periods of time. Get a nice Cushion, back against the wall for support, or sit in your favorite comfy armchair, as I do. 🙂

This is why, making sure you are comfortable and have good support for your back, knees, and joints will only be beneficial for you in the long run. There are many different meditation accessories you can find to help you sit comfortably for longer periods of time, like meditation pillows, a mat a chair, etc…. Keep it simple and just get started.

Keep in mind that you want your meditation room to be clutter-free to prevent you from getting distracted.

Here are some Zenful Decor Ideas to help you decorate your new space.

When it comes to decorations, you can add statues, zen gardens, singing bowls, crystals, essential oils, wall art, meditation mala beads, Books, Gratitude Journals, or some meditation tools. My Buddha is my favorite reminder of my Zen space.. it also helps remind the kids too. 🙂

If you like you can always decorate by the 5 elements or your 5 senses., you know your Sight, Smell, Taste, Sound, and Touch.

STEP #4 – MAKE IT SPECIAL & SACRED & PERSONAL

My Favorite Part- Making your space special, sacred and personal means that you will not treat it like any other space in your home. This space you are creating must feel special. Treat it with respect and add your personal touch to your Meditation space by adding something personal like a scarf or something that provides as a reminder to help you focus on mindfulness of clarity around your intentions and purpose. You can make it sacred by dedicating it solely to your meditation/yoga practice. Ask your family to respect that space and if ever they wish to use it, may it be only for meditating. Namaste!

Also, try to keep your electronic devices at bay whenever you are in your sacred space unless of course, you are using a meditation app.

SO, THERE YOU HAVE IT !

Easy steps to help you create your meditation space. It is important to put some thought into your surroundings. Choose the colors, textures, scents and objects of your meditation room carefully, you want to make your sacred space is set up with intention.

I hope these will motivate you into creating your beautiful at-home sanctuary where you can go to quiet the world and dive deep inside – after all, that’s where the magic happens.
