We have almost everything we need in our Master Bedroom, however, I had a feng shui idea or vision of having my bed be very hotel-like and expensive-looking but without actually costing a lot. Sound familiar?
I created a Pinterest board, to gather my thoughts & some ideas, and here is the list. ( contains affiliate links- see my disclaimer)
Here is the picture of my Feng Shui Bedroom on a Budget vision.
Afterward, I did a TON of research to find different ways that I could make my master bedroom, look and feel more luxuriously, feng shui compliant, and expensive without spending a boatload of money.
Here is the detailed list of everything I got for my Feng Shui bedroom on a budget, to help you do the same.
Start with what you have and build up.
Step 1- For Impact was the Head Board.
Head Board– you know me, I’m all about command position for your bed and support. Support means a good headboard.
Just to let you know, it took me 3 years to decide on a suitable headboard, yes I bought one from Wayfair which I loved, but gave it to my daughter…ok I will write about that later in another post.
Finally, Here is the one I fell in love with.
Don’t you just love it?
It is called Naples from Costco here in Canada, Excellent quality, not too dark of a grey so it goes and it feels and looks LUXURIOUS
I am obsessed with how my bedroom on a budget is coming along, am pretty impressed with myself for finding all of the things to make it look like a hotel bed for pretty cheap 🤷♀️.
Step 2 – NEXT, is the MATTRESS.
I had forgotten how EXPENSIVE mattresses were before I started researching them for my refresh, and they have gone up in price since we first bought ours… Like 15 years ago, and I was not going to spend over 1000 dollars on a mattress.
So I went to Amazon and searched for the cheapest mattress with the highest rating and this is what I found. Seriously it is sooo comfortable.
Mattress if you need one. This one I recommend.
CHOPINMOON Extra Thick Queen Mattress Topper, Cooling Mattress Pad Cover, Plush Quilted Pillow Top with Overfilled 4D Spiral Fiber(8-21 Inches Fitted Deep Pocket)
Ever since we took a trip with the kids to Niagara Falls one summer we stayed at the Marriott Hotel overlooking the falls. My little one was kinda sick, and as soon as we put him down on the bed he fell asleep, instantly. The fluffiness of the bed… was dreamy!
I don’t know if it’s this mattress topper or the combination of this and the mattress I bought, but seriously it’s the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept on.
Next On the List for my How to make my Feng Shui on A Budget Bedroom was…
These are soft and durable and gorgeous to sleep in.
This sheet set is amazing. It literally has a cult following on Amazon and everyone loves them. They are sooo comfy and very affordable, only $38 in In Canada, plus shipping. Hurry they sell out fast!
I really wanted silk pillowcases on the beds in my master bedroom because 1. they’re way better for your skin and hair and 2. I’m luxurious so had to do it 🤷♀️
These were only $10US on Amazon so why not and they also zipper in the back which I love. However, they slide around too much for me in my silky pjamas and the hubby So… I found these. Great Value for a set of 12- so the whole family got new pillowcases! Win- Win!
I love this comforter. I actually got 2 of these and stacked them on top of each other and then inserted them into the duvet cover for my kids. This made it look so much fluffier and more expensive.
I love this fabulous duvet cover white and clean and goes with everything, makes our old duvets look like a million bucks, and it was inexpensive so win-win!
It doesn’t make me hot, very surprised when I got this mattress protector just to try to be proactive and make sure my mattress will last as long as possible.
Same with the pillow covers – can’t hurt to keep them protected and help last longer.
These Velvet pillowcases are only like $7 each which is amazing and they look so much more expensive! I got them in the 26×26 size. Adding a touch of glam to my Feng Shui On a Budget. 😉
My favorite Feng Shui Bedroom on a Budget Tip:
You can always change the color according to what feng shui element you need in the bedroom. For example… you need to add the fire element into your bedroom, for Fire – add 2 red pillowcases, for water – add blue/ black. Do you get me?
For the pillows themselves, I already had some from ikea that I found-like these down pillows and got them for about $8 each which is such a good deal. Here are some good ones here.
I got 2 of these gorgeous Antelope pillow covers to add a pop of personality and calm, with a color of nature, and they look soooo good. I am going to grab 2 more for the living room. Why Not? They match my fave paint color.
Speaking of Pillows.. I got 4 king-size pillows and 2 queens for our queen-size bed. Here is the link to the Value pack of pillow cases.
By buying a bigger size, it made my bedroom look much more luxurious. Plus, I honestly find it more comfortable!
Bonus TIP! These silky yet comfortable pajamas that Make me feel like Florence Nightingale!
